Teaching Foreign Language in Educational System for Students with Learning Struggles

It is a big part of in the teaching system of all students at some time of educating. This is not at all abnormal, especially because second languages do not only help to understand others better, but are now found to be beneficial for the brain health for the learners. But, learners that already have written or speaking learning issues in their native language often have difficulties with understanding target languages in the classroom.

Appropriate teaching ways can bring prosperity for most of learners. The key to achievement can be found from both the learner and the educators. The task of the educators is to plan instructions that are adapted to the requests of each student teachers are teaching, while the learner is required to stay devoted to the learning and the projects given.

Learners that suffer from Non-Native Language Problems

Most of learners in the world are faced with issues in acquiring a foreign language than their mother tongue. This cannot classify them as learning disabled or mean that they suffer from dyslexia. One of the reasons why a student might have problems with understanding languages is actually because students have more abilities in other areas of expertise.

Additionally, learners might experience learning a second language to be a complicated job in a regular setting. The difference in achievements of students who study foreign languages may show to be severe regarding school surrounding. Generally, students that already face issues in reading, listening, communicating and writing in their mother tongue are endangered of encountering other language comprehending problems in class. Surely, the high rate of this difficulty can vary based on the severity of the problems they meet regarding their mother language learning.

  • Provide students with summary sheets, study guides and graphic representations.
  • Use color coding to assist them differentiate rules, gender and other principles
  • Use lyrics, special rhythms to assist learners to remember a language rule
  • Avoid grammar and vocabulary teaching strategies that include filling gaps
  • Provide learners with sufficient time when solving a non-native language tasks

The multilingual society requires for a different language to be learned in every classroom everywhere. If the teaching environment is planned to conform to the needs of at risk students, these students may also find use from the study of a non-native language. If the question that arises is whether at risk learners must learn a second language, the answer is definitely.

Non-native language is not solely a way of succeeding in the nowadays, but can also be seen a effective brain exercise. Regrettably, the educational system are not yet used to and set to fit the requirements of those in need particular attention when it comes to language learning. One solution is to make changes in language learning classrooms and fit the current strategies as per the necessities of the learners.

The big thing for solving this learning problem is to start from the professors. The nowadays teaching method are not satisfactory to teach students with learning difficulties, and professors must become more informed of the variabilities among their students. If a student cannot find a good way to learn a target language, professors need to identify this difficulty and find the proper way to help the students.
