Skilled Migrants are a Fillip for The Economy

May 28, 2015 by Tommy Leave a Comment

For the first century and a half of Australian colonization, all immigration was confined to people from English speaking countries with the occasional exceptions of people from a few other northern European countries.

But after the formal abandonment of policies that allowed this trend in the 1970’s, the gates of Australia have been open for people from all over the world.

Today Australia boasts of one of the most culturally diverse populations in the world. Immigrants from all over the world have come here seeking better opportunities and they have found them on Australian soil.

The list of rags to riches stories of immigrants is very long and still growing. People who came from dire straits in their native countries but have risen above their circumstances to make better lives for themselves through toil and hard work

Australia today nurtures the pursuit of dreams of any person who is willing to work hard enough to reach his or her goals.

And the positive impact of this immigration is two fold. Australia has benefited equally from the migrants who have adopted it as their new home.

The recent shift in immigration policy to give preference to skilled professionals has resulted in an amazing synergy effect. The skilled migrants bring with them skills that are in a shortage in Australia and these migrants are in return provided the means to pursue a life of prosperity.

Skilled migrants have infused the Australian economy with a fresh energy and the impact of these migrants settling on Australian shores has acted as a fillip for commerce and businesses in the country.

These migrants, professionals of their respective fields, are fast becoming an integral part of the Australian population and through their efforts continue to stimulate the economy of the nation
