S.M.A.R.T Goals for Proactive Life

May 28, 2015 by Tommy Leave a Comment

Setting smart goals is an edge to positive life change. These are sharp, targeted statements that provide you focus, clarity, and direction. It is significant for the small business owner to outline what they need to do, and reach vision in quantifiable and realistic aspects. For every goal, it must have detailed criteria with measurable results.

Ideally, you must have only 2-3 goals that you want to work out within 3-6 month timeframe. More than that, you taking too much risk and getting nothing. One of the common tactics in developing your goals is to utilize the formula for the five different characteristics of goals – S.M.A.R.T. Each of these factors combines to produce a consistent template for:

  • Highlighting your personal goals
  • Recognizing goal’s strengths and weaknesses
  • Following the time frame

Here’s a detailed summary of what each of the S.M.A.R.T attributes involves:

Specific – What precisely are you trying to achieve? The more detailed you can be, the more possibly the goal will be achieved.

Measurable – How do you identify if you’re truly successful? You can answer the questions: “By when?”, and “How many?”

Attainable – Is this realistic based on the resources you have produced? Goals should inspire you to reach, but not so far as to include unattainable resources or unworkable expectations

Relevant – Will this goal support you to achieve your vision? Setting goals that do not align themselves with your definitive outcome will distract your attention.

Timely – What is the limit for this effort? Without setting specific time frames connected with each goal, you will not possibly reach them because the day-to-day interruption will go through.

Having strong goals for the future provide an exact direction and great significance to our lives. It provides us significant frameworks which makes us how to decide manageably.  Goals are certainly about the future. Setting too many goals will only bring you too many disappointment or frustration. Remember that an effective goal setting organizes an action.

Learn how to figure out what’s significant to you to achieve something in the next 4-5 months and try hard to achieve for it. Otherwise, you will be persistently diverted and won’t achieve anything. So ask yourself, how are you describing your goals, plans, and tactics? What are you trying to reach by the end of this year? Go and get your goals using this S.M.A.R.T goal approach and other useful transformational scheme.
